Georgetown:
John Allen Wynn, Sr., 84, widower of Daphine McKnight Wynn, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Wynn was born in Georgetown County on January 26, 1932, a son of the late Joseph Patrick Wynn and Sadie Johnson Wynn. He grew up in Georgetown County and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Wynn served in the Army in the Korean Conflict. He retired after forty-six years employment with International Paper Company. Mr. Wynn was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wynn was predeceased by: two brothers, Joe Pat Wynn and Harold Wynn.
Surviving are: two sons, John A. Wynn, Jr. (Patricia) and Christopher L. Wynn (Kelly) both of Georgetown; two sisters, Elizabeth W. Wessel of Columbia and Marie W. West of Yauhannah; grandchildren, Mary W. Johnson, Alexander A. Wynn, Nickolas A. Wynn, John C. Wynn, Andrew Wynn, Amber Vibbert, and Nicky Weilacher; and great-grandchildren, Layton Wynn, Mason Wynn, Olivia Johnson, and Archer Vibbert. .
Funeral Services will be eleven o'clock Friday, January 20, 2017, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen P. Candal. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Baptist Churchyard.
