Edisto Island: Johnnie Lee Walker, 71, husband of Susan Willie Walker passed away peacefully on May 29, 2013. The family will receive friends at their home from 5:00 – 7:00 on Friday, May 31st. Graveside services will be at All Saints Church Cemetery in Pawley's Island at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. Johnnie was born on January 15, 1942 on his grandfather's farm in Hemingway. He is predeceased by his parents Ann Altman Walker and Johnnie Lutellas Walker. Johnnie spent his years growing up in Pawley's Island, graduated from Clemson University then returned to Pawley's Island where he lived many years at the place he loved and was a successful custom homebuilder. Johnnie and Susan retired to Edisto Island, SC where he pursued his passion for camellias. Johnnie is survived by his wife, Susan Willie Walker; daughters, Dodie Walker Bailey (Ray) of Savannah, GA and Kellie Walker Herlong (Michael) of Greenville, SC. In addition to his wife and daughters, the most pleasure Johnnie got from life was his four grandchildren, Lucy, Hank, Henry and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Walker Smith (Len) and brother, Larry Walker as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
