Obituary

Georgetown: Johnny Mack Jones, 75, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Jones was born in Conway on April 1, 1939, a son of the late John Henry Jones and Kathleen Morris Canady Jones. He grew up in Georgetown and was the owner of Johnny's Cabinet Shop. Mr. Jones spent a lifetime, 42 years, as a custom cabinet builder and was recognized and respected for his superior designs and craftsmanship. He was a devoted and loved husband, father, and brother, and joins his beloved mother in heaven after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. Mr. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving are: his wife, Barbara Wilson Jones of Georgetown; a son, John Mitchell Jones (Molly) of Georgetown; three daughters, Jaye Elliott (Greg) of Summerville, Tammy Jones of McLean, Va., and Melissa Sims (Jackson) of Georgetown; two sisters, Kay J. Biser and Frances J. Ward, both of Pawleys Island; five grandchildren, Jami Jones Wiles, James Harlan, Savannah Bailey, and Statom and Candler Willis; and two great-grandchildren, Anastyn Jones and Kamree Wiles. A memorial service will be held at one o'clock on Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill.
