Johnny Lee Mau, 56, of Georgetown SC passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026. He was born February 9, 1970, the son of the late Hans and Hannah Mau. He was preceded in death by his sister Louise “Dee Dee” Connor, brother Hans Michael Mau, and brother Steven Mau. Johnny is survived by sister Barbara Wrenn (Josh), adopted sons Jared (Hannah) and Tyler Gentry, nephew Brad Locklair, honorary sister, Tammi Thomas, and many cousins.
Johnny was a graduate of Georgetown High School. He went through school as a talented multi-sport athlete. He was affectionately known as “Big Moo” and continued to play sports throughout his life.
Johnny’s love knew no bounds. He was very family oriented. He would always make time for visits or to talk, to share love or a laugh. As he grew, he also grew in his faith with God. He never met a stranger and would never hesitate to help anyone. His love of family, friends, and God was evident in everything he did.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 18, 2026, at LC3 Church, 4430 Murrells Inlet Rd, Murrells Inlet. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to Operation Rise Again.
Arrangements are in the care of the Maryville Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home and Crematory, 843-546-4184.
