Georgetown:
Joseph Arthur Hardee, Sr., 61, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mr. Hardee was born in Columbia on July 24, 1950, a son of the late Leon Oscar Hardee and Claire Lucile Dicks Hardee. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Rabun Gap School in Rabun Gap, Ga. Mr. Hardee attended Horry-Georgetown Technical College and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a former employee with Fogel's Department Store in Georgetown and Belk's in Murrells Inlet, and was currently employed with Tomlinson's Department Store in Georgetown. Mr. Hardee was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving are: his wife, Holly Hardee of Georgetown; a daughter, JoAnn Hardee of Seneca; three sons, Joseph A. Hardee, Jr., Leon B. Hardee and George Hardee, all of Seneca; and the mother of his children, Ann Amann of Seneca.
Memorial services will be at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2011, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. G. Edward Usher.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center at the Church.
