Joseph "Joey" Brown Howard, 63, died Friday, December 12, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Howard was born in Georgetown on February 12, 1951, a son of the late Ernest Edward Howard, Sr. and Mary Louise Skipper Howard. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Howard lived in the Charlotte area for the last 35 years and was an avid golfer and bowler. He had a great love for Corvettes and motorcycles and was an avid coin collector. Mr. Howard was a kind and generous man and was loved by his family and friends. He is now reunited with his late brother, Earnest Howard, Jr., playing golf on a greater golf course.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mary "Ginger" V. Howard (Ray Maston) of Cornelius, NC; two sisters, Patsy McClellan (Albert) and Elaine Altman, both of Georgetown; a brother, Chris Howard (Janice) of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Rachel and Taylor Maston; and his former wife, Ettre Vee "Sam" Howard.
Graveside services will be held at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, December 14, 2014, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. C. Wyllene Skipper.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from one-thirty until two-thirty.
