Pawleys Island: Joseph Anthony Ripard 96 of Pawleys Island, South Carolina formerly of Detroit, Michigan went to be with his Lord March 26, 2018, holding the hand of his one true love, his wife of 73 years, Jean. Joe served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II, he was part of the mounted beach patrol and served aboard the U.S.S. Forsyth. He was the proud father of: Ron (Pat) Ripard, Connie Whitlock, Mary (Hal) Mitchell, Gail (Ken) Stouffer, and Beth (Gary) Corcoran; loving grandfather, to Tony, Amy, Rebecca, Sarah, Rachel, Joseph, Jesse, Ben, and Seth; and great-grandfather to 14. Joe was an avid boater and gun collector. After retirement from advertising in Detroit, Joe sold kayaks and enjoyed playing the banjo. He had a lifelong love of boating and was a man of many loves and talents, he will be missed but never forever forgotten. Services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, April 4, 2018, at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Georgetown.
