Andrews:
Josiah B. Glover, Jr., 68, died Friday, December 1, 2006, in Greensboro, N. C. after a short illness.
Joe was born in Florence on May 1, 1938, the son of J. B. Glover and Annie Mae Wessel Glover. He graduated from Andrews High School and attended Wofford College. Joe worked as a conductor for CSX Railroad and retired after 42 years of service. He coached girls softball at Andrews Academy for 18 years and his team won the State Championship in 1984. Joe was a former Jaycee and an avid antique and classic car buff and a member of the Winyah Cruisers Car Club.
Joe was an active member of Andrews First Baptist Church and the Rev. G. E. Hinson Sunday School Class. He was a former Deacon, served on the usher board, and as a member of numerous committees.
Surviving are: his wife of 46 years, Carol Thomas Glover of Andrews; and three daughters, Many, Amy and Julie Glover, all of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be three o'clock Monday afternoon, December 4, 2006, in Andrews First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will received friends at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Sunday evening, December 3, 2006 from six until eight.
