Florence: Juanita Mitchell Stewart, 88, died Friday, January 22, 2010, at Georgetown Healthcare and Rehab in Georgetown. Mrs. Stewart was born in Roxie, Miss. on April 25, 1921, a daughter of the late William Mitchell and Gladys Alford Mitchell. She grew up in New Orleans, La. and lived in Clemson prior to moving to Florence in 1955. She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stewart was predeceased by: her husband, Gustavus "Gus" Hoffmeyer Stewart; and a son, William Alexander "Alex" Stewart. Surviving are: a son, Julian G. Stewart of Wentzville, Mo. and Cheraw; a daughter, Diane Stewart of Pawleys Island; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be one o'clock Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Pisgah United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Pamela G. Ledbetter. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
