Andrews: Juanita "Nita" McCrea Wessel, 86, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence. Mrs. Wessel was born in Kingstree on October 30, 1917, a daughter of the late Hugh McCrea and Lizzie Tisdale McCrea. She graduated from Kingstree High School and attended Winthrop College. Mrs. Wessel was a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews, the Dorcas Sunday School Class, Morning Bible Study, and the Keen Agers Group. She was also a Sunday School teacher for thirty years. Surviving are: a son, James H. Wessel, Jr. of Florence; a daughter, Sharon W. McLeod of Andrews; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wessel was predeceased by: her husband, James Henry Wessel, Sr.; a brother, Thomas Martin McCrea; and a sister, Everleen Lane. Funeral services will be Monday, February 16, 2004, at eleven o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Sunday evening, February 15, 2004, from six until eight o'clock.
