Georgetown: Judith "Judy" Walters Ragin, 72, widow of W. S. "Sandy" Ragin, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet. Mrs. Ragin was born in Rock Hill on February 27, 1941, a daughter of the late William Keith Walters and Mettie Beckham Walters. She graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended classes at Winthrop College. Mrs. Ragin liked the beach at Pawleys Island and loved watching her cats play on the dunes there. She was a loyal fan of Clemson Tiger football and cheered them on, win or lose, every season. Judy was a music lover and enjoyed listening to the choir at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. She was a devoted loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are: her two sons, Wesley Ragin, Jr. and Jeffery K. Ragin, both of Garden City Beach; a grandson, W. S. "Trip" Ragin, III of Garden City Beach; and a brother, William Keith Walters, Jr. of Rock Hill. Burial will take place at eleven o'clock on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Churchyard. A memorial service will follow at noon at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Wilkins and the Rev. Dr. William H. Puckett, Jr. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service at the church.
