Georgetown:
Julia Ann Yaun Stalvey, 88, died Saturday, March 14, 2020 after an extended illness.
Julia Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Ruth Flowers Yaun and Luther B. Yaun, Sr. She was a graduate of Winyah High School, where she was active in the high school band as well as some local bands as a singer. Julia Ann joyfully married Ernest Clyde Stalvey, Jr. in 1950 at the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. After marriage, she became a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
Julia Ann was a devoted wife of 57 years before Clyde's death in 2007 and was a stay at home Mom for their 4 children in their Georgetown and Pawleys Island homes. They later moved to their country home residence, because some of her happiest childhood memories were of days visiting her grandmother's farm in Darlington, SC. The family increased with the addition of their horses. Their children learned the responsibility of having horses and other animals and Julia Ann shared with them her love of cooking and how to garden vegetables and flowers.
Julia Ann was predeceased by: her loving husband, Clyde; her parents, Luther and Ruth Yaun; her sister, Peggy Yaun Parsons Ford; and in-laws, Ernest, Clyde, Sr. and Vivian Stalvey.
Surviving are: her four children, Ernest Clyde "Chip" Stalvey, III, Rodney "Rod" Jay Stalvey (Lisa) and Gary Rouse Stalvey, all of Georgetown, and Leslie Ruth Boyatt (Tony) of Blue Ridge, GA; two brothers, Luther B. Yaun, Jr. (Becky) of Greensboro, NC and Ralph O. Yaun (Sandra) of Leland, NC; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
