Pawleys Island: Julianne Blakeley, 63, died Wednesday, September 26 2007, at her residence. Ms. Blakeley was born in Panama City, Fla. on February 19, 1944, a daughter of the late John Muldrew Blakeley and Kate Nelson Blakeley. She grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. Ms. Blakeley graduated from Columbia College and received her Masters from Converse College. She taught at Coastal Carolina University and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Ms. Blakely was a member of All Saints Church. Ms. Blakeley was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Kent Thornton. Surviving are: four children, John Blakeley Thornton and his fiancé Michelle Lamarche, Kenneth Clay Thornton, and Kate Nelson Thornton all of Mt. Pleasant, and Olivia Lee Charney and her husband Felix Thomas Charney of Weston, Conn.; a granddaughter, Caroline "Legare" Charney of Weston, Conn.; Aunts and Uncles, , Mr. and Mrs. Billy P. Woodbury of Georgetown; and Mr. and Mrs. Harris T. Blakeley of Andrews. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at All Saints Church, Waccamaw. Officiating will be The Right Rev. Charles H. Murphy, The Rev. Terrell L. Glenn, and the Rev. Thomas C. Brown. Burial will follow in the Churchyard. Sign a guestbook at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
