Georgetown: Julie Harmon Sharp, 62, went to be with her Heavenly Father the evening of June 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Chris Sharp and the devoted mother to Jonathan and Rebecca. She was born July 14, 1959 to the late Arthur Kenneth Harmon and Joe Ann Porter Harmon in Quincy, Florida and grew up in Bennettsville, SC. She was a 1977 graduate of Bennettsville High School and attended Coastal Carolina University. She was a faithful member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Julie was a long time member of the Duncan choir and a mentor to the children and youth of the community. She enjoyed her many years of bar tending the South Carolina Governor's Cup Blue Marlin Tournament. She enjoyed boating and being on the river at her house with her family. She also enjoyed dancing and making others smile and laugh. She was selfless and very well-known for her vibrant personality. Julie was a loving grandmother and her favorite people called her Shug. She is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Jonathan (Janna) Sharp; daughter, Rebecca (John) Prevatte; brother, Briggs Harmon; sister, Tscharner (Gene) Lord; sister-in-laws, Sandra Edwards and Deborah (Jessie) Faircloth; grandchildren, Emery, Abigail, Ada Briggs, and Isaac. She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Officiated by Rev. E. Rossiter Chellis, services will be held Sunday, June 26 at 2 PM at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. There will be a private burial following the service. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Center one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, 901 Highmarket St., Georgetown, SC, 29440 or a charity of one's choice.
