Andrews: Kathryn Colbert Bird, 97, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006, at Heartland of West Ashley in Charleston. Mrs. Bird was born in Owensboro, Ky. on January 8, 1909, the daughter of the late John Wyley Colbert and Margaret Marsh Colbert. She grew up in Kentucky, worked for a time at Glenmore Distillery in Owensboro, and was a former school teacher. Mrs. Bird lived in Mt. Pleasant for a number of years prior to moving to Andrews. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bird was predeceased by: her husband, Allen Walter Bird and a daughter, Kathryn "Kaye" B. Tims. Surviving are: a son-in-law, W. Clark Tims, III of Andrews; a granddaughter, Kathryn Onufrak of Atlanta, Ga.; and two grandsons, William C. Tims, IV of New York City, N. Y. and Mark B. Tims of Andrews. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Friday morning, February 3, 2006, at the graveside in Christ Episcopal Churchyard in Mt. Pleasant. Officiating will be the Rev. James L. Hyatt.
