Pawleys Island: Kathryn Barbie Dingle, 89, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at National Healthcare Center of Garden City. Mrs. Dingle was born in Hartsville on January 22, 1917, a daughter of the late Thaddeus F. Barbie and Kate L. Brown Barbie. She was the widow of Col. Robert Seth Dingle, Jr. Kathryn was a devoted Christian, and she lived her life out as a Child of God and her Savior Jesus Christ up until the day she died. She was a member of All Saints Choir for at least 25 years. She served as a Lay Reader and a Lay Eucharistic Minister on both Sundays and at the Wednesday Healing Service over 15 years. Kathryn was a member of a very small prayer group of women who prayed diligently for Spiritual Revival in her Church in the 70's and early 80's and was a part of the search committee who called the Rt. Rev. Bishop Chuck Murphy to All Saints in 1982. She was a past member and president of Episcopal Church Women, taught Sunday School, and assisted with Bible School for many years. Kathryn was a leader of Faith Alive Retreats in the 70's and was active in Cursillo for many years with her husband, Col Seth Dingle. Her gift of Faith and Devotion to prayer resulted in many new-born Christians. Everyone who ever met Kathryn loved her and looked to her as a chosen women of God, simply, by her love and Godly spirit which was so alive in her. Visiting her at National Healthcare Center, where she spent her last 8 years, was a blessing to all her visitors and to the staff there. Surviving are: a son, Robert S.
