Kathy Jenelle Gambrell Mussman, 73, beloved wife of Donald Frederick Mussman, passed away peacefully at her home in Georgetown, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family on June 6, 2025.
Born October 10, 1951, in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, Kathy was the daughter of the late William Harold Gambrell and Sudie Valerie Kelly Gambrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Everette Houston; her brother, Mitchell Gambrell; and her sister, Elaine Gambrell Latimer.
Kathy was a devoted wife, cherished family member, and friend to many. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her will be remembered always. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, her gentle spirit, and her strength.
Kathy was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and generous heart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cherishing the moments that brought them together. She and her husband shared a passion for fishing and traveling, always eager for a new adventure or a peaceful day by the water. Kathy also had a special love for music and dancing—especially shag dancing, which brought her great joy.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Frederick Mussman; her three children, Jay Todd, Angela Allen (John), and Terry Mussman (Mandy); her four grandchildren, Cody Allen (Britany), Courtney Houston (Austin), Mary Elizabeth Mussman, and Isabella Mussman; and six great-grandchildren, Lydia Grace Allen, Isaiah Allen, Levi Allen, Riley Faith Houston, Raelyn Houston, and Emeryn Houston. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Gambrell; her brother-in-law, Mark Mussman (Susan); her sister-in-law, Janice Windham (Bobby); and many loving nieces and nephews.
Kathy's strength, compassion, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will be treasured always.
A memorial service at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Tidelands Community Hospice.
