Georgetown: Kathy Cribb Thompson, 54, died Monday, September 08, 2014, at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia. Mrs. Thompson was born in Georgetown on October 6, 1959, a daughter of Carolene Carter Cribb and the late Clinton Leroy Cribb. She grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mrs. Thompson attended Francis Marion College and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. She worked as a teacher's aide at Kensington Elementary School and also taught horse riding lessons. Mrs. Thompson loved all animals. In addition to her mother of Georgetown, surviving are: her husband, John David Thompson of Georgetown; a daughter, Kristen Thompson Long (Spencer) of Georgetown; and two grandchildren, Jackson and Bevan Caroline Long, both of Georgetown. Funeral services will be held at four o'clock on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Wall. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery Annex. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, September 9, 2014, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
