Surfside Beach:
Kelso Lowell Cantley, 83, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Cantley was born in Williamsburg Co. on October 29, 1925, a son of the late Francis Calhoun Cantley and Mable "Bell" Walters Cantley. He grew up in Williamsburg Co. and worked at the Naval Shipyard in Charleston during World War II. After his marriage to the late Iva Nell Ard Cantley, he moved to Georgetown, where he was employed with International Paper Co. for forty years until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Cantley was a member of Winyah Lodge #40, Ancient Freemasons in Georgetown and the Scottish Rite Temple and Omar Shrine Temple in Mt. Pleasant.
Surviving are: three sons, L. Wayne Cantley of Andrews, Keith E. (Tina Sanderson) Cantley, and Jacob D. Cantley, both of Surfside Beach; a sister, Hazelene "Peachy" Morris of Andrews; two grandchildren, Amy Cantley and Shane Cantley; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with Masonic Rites will be eleven o'clock Thursday morning, June 4, 2009, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
