Georgetown:
L. Jay "LJ" Aldridge, 82, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Tideland Community Hospice House.
Mr. Aldridge was born in Birmingham, Ala. on October 10, 1927, a son of the late Jay Aldridge and Mamie Bailey Aldridge. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Aldridge was a former radio engineer with WGTN radio station in Georgetown and also worked for a time as a cottage parent at Florida Sheriffs' Boys Ranch. He was a member of Fireside Ministries.
Surviving are: his wife, Robbie Grace Ray Aldridge of Georgetown; three daughters, Shelia A. Sullivan of Georgetown, Sheree A. Brown of Riverview, Fla. and Shelley A. Singletary of Bushnell, Fla.; a brother, William E. Aldridge of Bartow, Fla.; a sister, Betty Mitchell of Tampa Florida; and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Jeremy, Nicholas, Seth, Sabrina, Jennifer, and Levi.
Memorial services will be six-thirty o'clock Wednesday evening, May 19, 2010, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Billy Anderson.

The family will receive friends prior to the memorial service on Wednesday at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from five until six-thirty.
