Andrews:
Larry O'Neal Cannon, 70, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston.
Mr. Cannon was born in Kingstree on March 9, 1943, a son of the late George Harmon Cannon and Mellie Mims Cannon. He grew up in the Cedar Swamp community of Williamsburg Co. and graduated from Kingstree High School. Mr. Cannon served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a retired Maintenance Supervisor with Phoenix Glove. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews, where he served on the Deacon Board for many years. Mr. Cannon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He especially loved his two grandchildren, Blakelee and Katelynn.
Surviving are: his wife, Janice Wilson Cannon of Andrews; a son, Frank Cannon (Laurie) of Columbia; a daughter, Kim Cannon of Andrews; his two grandchildren; three brothers, Johnny Cannon of Pamplico, Ronnie Cannon of Andrews, and Vernon Cannon of Wichita Falls, Tex.; a special niece, Brandie Parsons and her Dad, Joey Parsons, both of Andrews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cannon was predeceased by: five brothers, Carrol, Manuel, Carnel, Jeepy, and George Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock on Thursday morning, August 1, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald P. Sapp, the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford, and Rev. David Spears. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 31, 2013, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from six until eight o'clock.
