Larry Claude Johnson, 62, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Medical University of S. C. Hospital in Charleston
Mr. Johnson was born in Georgetown on December 4, 1949, a son of the late James Claude Johnson and Asdis Fingigerdur Samundsdottir Johnson. He attended Georgetown County Schools and served in the U. S. Army in Viet Nam. Mr. Johnson was hired in 1972 as a plumber at Georgetown Memorial Hospital and was currently the Plant Operations Director at the hospital. He was a Certified Hospital Facilities Manager and a member of the S. C. Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association, the Indoor Air Quality Council, the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Inc. and life Safety Code Specialists.
Surviving are: his wife Linda Michau Johnson of Pawleys Island; a son, Chris Johnson of Charlotte, N. C.; a daughter, Candace Kennedy of Pawleys Island; five brothers, John Johnson and James Johnson, both of Texas, Herbert Johnson, Ralph Johnson and Joey Johnson, all of Georgetown; a sister, Mary Ann Cribb of Charleston; a granddaughter, Samantha Kennedy of Pawleys Island; and a niece and three nephews.
Memorial funeral services will be three o'clock Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Estes.
