IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry E.
Lambert
May 30, 1945 – February 1, 2026
Georgetown, SC
Larry Edward Lambert, 80, of Georgetown, died on February 1, 2026.
Born May 30, 1945, in Bakersfield, CA, Larry was the son of Edward Marian Lambert and Coma Leta Lambert (Martin).
Larry served in the US Navy for 22 years and was deployed during the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1975, ultimately achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He served on many ships throughout his Navy career, but the USS Mahan (DDG-42) always held a special place in his heart. After retiring from active duty, he continued his dedication to the US Navy by working as a combat systems engineer for Northrop Grumman, retiring in 2011 after 28 years of service.
In retirement, Larry greatly enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, spending time outdoors, and traveling to visit his beloved family. He also cherished time with his furry family members—Jake, Roxie, JoJo, and Olive.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marjorie Lambert (Hogle) of Georgetown, SC, whom he met in 1981 while stationed on the USS Rancocas (LS-1), "the ship in the middle of the field," in Moorestown, NJ. They were married for 42 wonderful years.
Larry is also survived by four beloved children: Lorie Kerk of Santee, SC; Sean Lambert of Triangle, VA; Amy DeRosa-Gossman (Tim) of Bloomfield Hills, MI; and Rebecca Roulo (Peter) of Ann Arbor, MI.
One of Larry's greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren: Elizabeth (deceased), Kate, Jacob, Jayden, Matthew, Christian, and Gabrielle.
Larry came from a large and loving family, of whom he was immensely proud, including seven siblings: David (Ivy); Don (deceased; Terrye, deceased); Ronnie (deceased; Sandy); Marian "Red" Dale (Carmen); Thomas "Bimbo" (Teresa); Brenda (deceased; Bruce); and Karen. Through his marriage to Marjorie, Larry deeply cared for his cherished sisters-and-brothers-in-law: Fred and Barbara Bossack, Mac and Barbara Hogle, and Dick and Mogi Hogle. Moreover, never to be forgotten, Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to him. Finally, never to be forgotten, are so many beautiful friends who became family along his journey in life.
A very special thank you goes to the physicians and nurses at the Grand Strand Medical Center, STICU Department, whose incredible care, compassion, and respect throughout Larry's final days will never be forgotten.
A memorial service is being planned, and information will be provided to friends and family at a future date. To honor Larry's memory, donations may be made to causes he cared deeply about: The Veterans of Foreign Wars, heroes.vfw.org Disabled American Veterans, help.dav.org or your local animal shelter or pet therapy program.
