Andrews:
Laverne Bruce Johnson, 64, husband of Marilyn Rowney Johnson, passed away Wednesday evening, March 18, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Georgetown on September 24, 1955, a son of the late Gib Johnson and Ola Forbes Johnson. He grew up in Andrews and attended Andrews High School.
Mr. Johnson love spending time on the Hunting Club where he passed many hours' deer driving. He loved watching old western movies and when he had time he would go fishing. He had nicknames for everyone especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was predeceased by: three brothers, Henry Johnson, Clarence "Buddy" Johnson and Delton Gib Johnson; and a brother-in-law Bernett Duncan.
Surviving are: his wife of Andrews, two sons, Woody Johnson (Leslie) of Andrews and Beau Field (Vanessa) of Colorado; a daughter, Crystal Goff (Charlie) of Gable; Derrick Johnson (Shannon) who was like a son from Monck Corner; and three brothers, Jimmy Johnson of Macedonia, Delbert "Dinky" Johnson (Lisa) and Leon Johnson both of Andrews; and two sisters, Bertha Duncan and Linda Altman (Spuddy) both of Andrews; a sister-in-law, Kathy T. Johnson, and seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be three o'clock Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Maryville Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Tommy Cox. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday, March 21, 2020, in the Church Sanctuary from one-thirty until three o'clock.
