Loretta Etta (Lee) Marsh Main 96 of Georgetown, SC died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 3:30 a.m. at Highsmith-Rainey Hospice Care in Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2007 at noon at First Assembly of God Church in Georgetown with the Rev. Dr. John Hedgepeth and the Rev. Dr. C. Bradley Morris officiating. Burial directed by Mayer Funeral Home's Georgetown Chapel will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mayer Funeral Home's Georgetown Chapel.
Mrs. Main was born April 4, 1911 at Sampit, SC, a daughter of the late Thomas L. Marsh and Mary Magdalene Burgess Marsh. She attended school in Georgetown and was primarily a homemaker. She was a charter member of First Assembly of God Church and served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher and the women's missionary group. She was a charter member of the Whites Bridge Garden Club. In February 1947, a group of interested women met at her home on Highmarket Street, the result of that meeting was the Whites Bridge Garden Club. Over the years, she was presented awards for her many outstanding arrangements.
She was predeceased by her husband, Horace Leclair Main whom she married on May 9, 1929 in Georgetown, SC and enjoyed their marriage until his passing on Jan. 28, 1990; also: four brothers, Chester Marsh, Johnny Marsh, Russell Marsh, and Ted Marsh; and four sisters, Bertie Bone, Eula Morris, Lucille Loadholt, and Ruby Butler.
Surviving are: a son, Alfred Leclair Main of Pawleys Island, SC; a daughter, Geraldine Claire Main Campbell (John Waring) of Fayetteville, NC; seven grandchildren, Renee Main and Connie M. Coursey (Gary) of Rincon, GA, Wanda M. Hill (Freddie) of Georgetown, SC, Tim Main (Debbie) of Upland, CA, Donald Main of Fayetteville, NC, Kelli C. Kurfurst (Bill) of Fayetteville, NC, and Kevin Campbell of Durham, NC; 12 great-grandchildren, Kimberly C. Baker of Rincon, GA, Keri Anne Coursey of Guyton, GA, Jamie Hill of Birmingham, AL, Lora H. Morris (Jeremy) of Charleston, SC, Matthew, Adam and Ashley Main of Upland, CA, Brandon Main of Oregon, Jessica K. Jackson (Sean) of Fayetteville, NC and Rodger, Britney, and Kyle Kurfurst of Fayetteville, NC; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Regan and Kyndal Baker of Rincon, GA and Jelani Jackson of Fayetteville, NC.
