Andrews:
Lenora Jane Newton Morris, 65, died Friday, January 23, 2004, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree.
Mrs. Morris was born January 23, 1939 in the Oceda section of Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Warren Leo Newton and Eunice Lucille Cothran Newton. She attended Andrews Schools and Gourdine's Chapel as a young person. Mrs. Morris lived in the Warsaw section of Williamsburg County for forty-eight years was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.
Surviving are: her husband, J. B. Morris of Andrews; a son, Tony W. Morris and his wife Annette of Andrews; two daughters, Cindy M. Glisson and her husband James and D. Hope Baxley and her husband Rick, all of Andrews; a brother, James Newton of Andrews; three sisters, Lucille Byrdic of Columbia, Annie Mae Cook of Andrews, and Jeanette Robinson of Lancaster; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Dean Morris; three brothers, Marion Newton, Jack Newton, and Johnny W. Newton; and two sisters, Elizabeth Reed and Evone Newton;
Funeral services will be Monday, January 26, 2004 at two o'clock at Piney Forest Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Elmer Lambert and the Rev. James L. May. Burial will follow in Piney Forest Cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the residence Sunday evening, January 25, 2004, from six until eight o'clock.
