Andrews:
Leona Benton Long, 83, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Long was born in Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on December 3, 1921, a daughter of the late George Roy Benton and Lula Lee Powell Benton. She grew up in the Andrews area and lived all her life there. Mrs. Long was a member of Black River Original Free Will Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include: five sons, Ronald Fulton of Versailles, Ky.; Leonard Fulton of Kingstree, and Jim Fulton, Larry Fulton, and Walter Fulton, all of Andrews; a daughter, Joan Mercer of Georgetown; a step-son, C. J. Long of New Bern, N. C. and a step-daughter, Betty L. Hill of New Bern, N. C.; fifteen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was predeceased by: her husband, Charlie David Long, a brother, G. David Benton; and a sister, Letha B. Cox.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2005, at Black River Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Cockrell and the Rev. Murray Powell. Burial will follow in Long Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, April 12, 2005, at Black River Original Free Will Baptist Church from seven until nine.
