Commander Leonard Thomas Roach, 65, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Commander Roach was born August 4, 1944 in New Orleans, La. He was the son of the late Leonard Hunter and Lucille French Roach of Asheville, N. C. Commander Roach was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, N. C. with a degree in Chemistry. He served his country for twenty years in the United States Navy.
Surviving are: his son, Scott Marney Roach of Georgetown; a daughter, Heather Roach Koepnick of Athens, Ga.; two sisters, Carol Pease and Mary Jane Sasnett, both of Atlanta, Ga. of; a brother Frank Roach of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Scott Tyler of Savannah, Ga. and Lynn and Seth Christopher Roach of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 4, 2010, at one o'clock at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Rev. Paul C. Fuener, Rev. Andrew J. Morgan, and Frank Roach will officiate. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
