Georgetown:
Leroy Moore, 72, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, at MUSC Hospital in Charleston.
Mr. Moore was born on December 10, 1939 in Morganton, N.C., a son of the late Lee Franklin Moore and Ruth Estal Whisnant Moore. After retiring from Drexel Heritage Furniture in Drexel, N.C., he worked for Food Lion on Hwy. 544 in Horry Co. and later moved to the store in Georgetown. Mr. Moore loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed early country music shows. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Rose.
Surviving are: his wife, Rose Altman Moore of Georgetown; two daughters, Reta Greene (Willie) of Drexel, N.C. and Donna Jemess (Phillip) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Michael Moore (Lisa) and Randy Moore (Stacy), both of Morganton, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Billy Greene, Felicia, Michael, Erin, Jason, Zachary and Justin Moore, and Ashley Dockery; five great-grandchildren, Braxton Greene, Madelyn Brown, Mason and Olivia Moore, and Alex Jackson; three sisters, Doris Jackson, Mary Duckworch, and Kay Edwards; and a brother, Willard Moore. Mr. Moore was predeceased by a sister, Reba Fredell.
Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2012, at The Christian Fortress in Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Geraldine A. Bednego. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
The family will received friends on Monday evening, February 27, 2012, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral home from six until eight o'clock.
