Obituary

Surfside Beach: Leslie Howard Roberts, 63, died Friday, September 10, 2004, at Conway Medical Center in Conway. Mr. Roberts was born in Georgetown on October 14, 1940, a son of the late William Edward Roberts and Marguerite Ellen Hamilton Roberts. He grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. Mr. Roberts attended Clemson University. He lived in Atlanta, Ga. and Cherry Grove Beach prior to moving to Surfside Beach two years ago. Mr. Roberts was an employee of Atlantic Southeast Airlines. Surviving are: his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Haas Roberts of Surfside Beach; a daughter, Dorothy H. Roberts of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a brother, Michael H. Roberts and his wife Elaine of Pawley's Island. Funeral services will be two o'clock Monday afternoon, September 13, 2004, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. R. Wayne Ellis. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2004 from four until six.
