Andrews:
Lila Smith Pipkin, 80, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her residence.
Ms. Pipkin was born in McColl on July 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Willie Hubert Smith and Viola Adams Smith. She grew up in the Pleasant Hill community of Georgetown County and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. Ms. Pipkin was the former owner of The Bargain Shop in Andrews and Georgetown. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are: a daughter, Debbie P. Elliott of Andrews; four sons, Pat Pipkin, Richard "Ricky" Shawn Pipkin, and Hubert C. "Chris" Pipkin (Marissa), all of Andrews, and Tony Pipkin of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ms. Pipkin was predeceased by a son, George C. Pipkin, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock on Friday morning, January 10, 2014, at Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dean Baber and the Rev. Harry Tanner, Jr. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 9, 2014, at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church from six until eight o'clock.
