W. Columbia: Lila McLaulin Rowell, 100, widow of Puett E. Rowell, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Laurel Crest. Mrs. Rowell was born in the Rhems community of Andrews on December 4, 1913, a daughter of the late John Waters and Mary Etta Wilson McLaulin. She is survived by: three daughters, Linda R. Howell and Rachel R. Otis (Michael), both of Columbia, and Mary R. Morris (James L.) of Lexington; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband of 61 years, Mrs. Rowell was also predeceased by: her stepmother, Allie Blakely McLaulin; and eight brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 in the afternoon on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Ben Gafford.
