Andrews:
Lila Elizabeth Ward Watford, 80, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Watford was born in Georgetown Co. on January 14, 1932, a daughter of the late William Rhodus Ward, Sr. and Hessie Richardson Ward. She retired as owner of Watford's Oceda Grocery in 1986. Mrs. Watford was a member of Gourdine's Chapel and was active in the Gourdine's Chapel Women's Society.
Surviving are: her husband, Walter Edward Watford, Sr. of Andrews; a son, David M. Watford, Sr. (June) of Andrews; a daughter, Linda W. Prince (Stan) of Lititz, Pa.; three brothers, Johnny Ward of Moncks Corner, Homer Ward of Andrews, and James "Jimmy" Ward of Bonneau; three sisters, Leona Copple of Owasso, Okla., Barbara Jean Davis and Deborah Lynn Bryant, both of Andrews; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Watford was predeceased by: a son, Walter Edward Watford, Jr.; and a grandson, Walter "Shane" Edward Watford, III.
Funeral services will be at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, July 4, 2012, at Gourdine's Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Themos Cribb. Burial will follow at Ivey Cemetery.
