Lisa Howard Thompson, born on February 17, 1965, in Georgetown, South Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of Tommy Howard and Annette Howard.
Lisa was a proud graduate of Presbyterian College in South Carolina. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to serving others through her work. Her career included positions with 3V Chemical, A&L Apparel, Andrews Academy, where she served as a teacher, and DSM in Kingstree. No matter where she worked, Lisa was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and genuine care for those around her. Throughout her life she enjoyed reminiscing of her time showing and riding horses, playing basketball, softball, volleyball, and flag football, riding around town in her jeep, and all of the wonderful friends she met along the way. Most recently she loved being among her chickens, goat, and little dog Clover.
Above all else, Lisa treasured her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Thompson; her loving mother, Annette Howard; her sister Deborah (Gene) Antley; her son, Josh Thompson and his wife, Miranda Thompson; her daughter, Jodi McDaniel and her husband, Ryan McDaniel; and her cherished grandchildren, Bentlee Thompson, Hadley Thompson, Liam Thompson, Finley Thompson, Joshua McDaniel and TJ McDaniel. She also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Glenn Barrineau. Her family was the center of her life, and she found her greatest joy in spending time with them and celebrating their accomplishments. She was known as Howie and Mama, but her favorite nickname was always CiCi.
Lisa will be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and in the love she shared so freely with her family, friends, coworkers, and community. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home, 409 South Morgan Avenue, Andrews, South Carolina 29510.
A funeral service celebrating Lisa's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, at Happy Home Free Will Baptist Church, 56 Big Dam Swamp Drive, Andrews, South Carolina 29510.
The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time and asks that Lisa be remembered for the love she gave so generously throughout her life.
