Georgetown:
Lizzie Dae Poston Ard, 77, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Ard was born in Florence on August 22, 1926, a daughter of the late William Curvin Poston and Lula Irene Harrington Poston. She grew up in Georgetown and was a former employee of the Container Division of International Paper Co. and the Lafayette Restaurant. Mrs. Ard was a member of First Assembly of God. She served her church in a number of positions and as a member and secretary of the Open Bible Class.
Surviving are: three sons, Jimmy B. Ard and his wife Peggy of Goose Creek, David Glenn Ard of Charlotte, N. C. and Bobby L. Ard and his wife Pam of Georgetown; three daughters, Nancy Ard Cox and her husband Al of Georgetown, Cindy Ard Strickland and her husband LaRell of Summerville, and Sandra Ard Truesdale and her husband Stephen of Oostburg, Wis.; three sisters, Louise Cox, Daisy Lee Miller, and Libby McElveen, all of Georgetown; eleven grandchildren, Jeff Ard, Traci Link, Kyleigh Cox, Matt Cox, Lindsey Strickland, Carlin Strickland, Kristen Ard, Justin Ard, Alexandria Ard, Corey Truesdale, and Blair Truesdale; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Ard and Bailey Cox; and fourteen nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ard was predeceased by: her husband, Herbert Ard and two brothers, James Harvey Poston and William "Bunt" Poston.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, October 17, 2003, at four o'clock at the First Assembly of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. C. Bradley Morris. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Church Thursday evening, October 16, 2003, from six until eight o'clock.
