Georgetown:
Lola McKnight Murphy, 80, died Sunday, November 21, 2004, at the Medical University of S. C. Hospital.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Salters on January 17, 1924, daughter of the late Rubin McKnight and Annie Player McKnight. She moved from Spartanburg to Georgetown a year ago. She was a member and secretary of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Spartanburg for many years. After moving to Georgetown she became a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: her husband of sixty years, Richard F. Murphy of Georgetown; two sons, Ken Murphy and his wife Donna of Pawley's Island and Rick Murphy and his wife Lauren of Pickens; one daughter, Denise Pace and her husband Bob of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Marshal Murphy, Chandler Murphy, and Lawson Murphy all of Pawley's Island, Emily Pace of Columbia, Alicia Williams of Charleston, and Wesley Murphy and Elliott Murphy, both of Pickens.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon, November 24, 2004, at two o'clock at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Greeleyville. Officiating will be the Rev. Milton L. McGuirt. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
