Andrews: Lou Eva Watson Lawrence, 86, died Saturday, August 31, 2013. Mrs. Lawrence was born in Cheraw, SC on September 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Carl Bennett Watson and Victoria Hathcock Watson. She graduated from Cheraw High School in 1944 and attended Winthrop University. In 1951, she married Thomas Carl Lawrence and moved to Andrews, SC. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Andrews for 61 years where she worked as the financial secretary for several years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother ("Mimi") to her family and a loving friend to many. Lou enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing golf and fun trips to the beach with family and friends. Surviving are: her two daughters, Lou Ellen Watson and her husband Ed, and Elizabeth "Beth" Brabham and her husband, Lamar: both of Columbia; a brother Carl B. Watson, Jr. and his wife Mary Moore Culler Watson also of Columbia; and three grandchildren, Mary Beth Watson of Atlanta, Ga., Ellen Riley Watson of Charleston, SC and Scott Manning Brabham of Columbia. A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, at eleven o'clock on Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Ben M. Gafford. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 1st at Shandon United Methodist Church in the Wesley Fellowship Hall from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
