Louie Allen McRae, 72, died Friday, October 29, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. McRae was born in Georgetown on April 20, 1932, a son of the late George Allen McRae and Pearl Lena Rowe McRae. He grew up in Georgetown and was a graduate of Winyah High School. Mr. McRae retired after over twenty-eight years service from the U. S. Army. He attained the rank of 1st Sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Mr. McRae was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and a Shriner.
Survivors include: a son, Al McRae of New York City, N. Y.; two daughters, Jan McRae Bunce and her husband John of Fayetteville, N. C. and Joy McRae Strait and her husband Richard of Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren, Johnny Bunce and his wife Marcie of Sanford. N. C., Brad Bunce and Natalie Bunce, both of Fayetteville, N. C., and Kirk Strait of Savannah, Ga.; a great-grandchild, Bladen Bunce of Sanford, N. C.; and a nephew, Mike Cox and his wife Frances of Lexington, S. C.
Funeral services with Masonic rites and military honors will be two o'clock Monday afternoon, November 1, 2004, at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery Annex in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Milton Stubblefield.
