Andrews:
Lucian "Pete" Fitzgerald Kinder, 81, died Monday, July 27, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Kinder was born in Andrews, a son of the late Lucian Percy Kinder and Sally Fitzgerald Kinder. He grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School and Clemson University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Kinder was a retired employee of International Paper Company. He became a private pilot in 1969 and always loved flying. He served as chairman of the Georgetown County Airport Commission for eight years. During his tenure, the runway in Andrews was resurfaced and a new terminal building was constructed at the Georgetown Airport. Mr. Kinder was a member of Andrews Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinder was predeceased by: his wife, Barbara Bell Kinder; a son, Lucian "Luke" Fitzgerald Kinder; and a daughter, Barbara Elizabeth Kinder.
Surviving are: a daughter, Melissa K. Maresca (Mark) of Charleston; a son, John B. Kinder (Katie) of Chattanooga, Tenn; two granddaughters, Lauren and Kathryn Maresca; a brother, Jack D. Kinder (LaJean) of Andrews.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Friday morning, July 31, 2015, at the graveside in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. W. Clinton Stockton.
