Georgetown:
Lucille Meagher Meany, 98, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 03, 2018, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, surround by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1920, in Ottumwa, IA., the daughter of the late Fla C. Meagher and Ruby Kent Meagher. On September 13, 1941, she married Bernard M. Meany in Kirksville, MO. They were married 68 years before he passed away in 2009. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Marjorie and Ruby Jeanne, and her son-in-law, Richard Toemmes.
Heaven gained a truly wonderful soul in Lucille. She was kind, caring, and cherished by her family; her daughter, Pamela M. Toemmes, granddaughter, Sarah Toemmes Jenkins (Brad), her grandson, Michael B. Toemmes (Ranie), and her two precious great-granddaughters, Ellie Toemmes and Anna Toemmes.
She spent her time thinking of others with gestures such as painting watercolor cards to send (always with a personal note) to her numerous friends and relatives. She wrote in her Grateful Journal and thanked the Lord daily for her many blessing.
She was an active member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church still attending services as often as possible in order to worship and see her Church family.
In addition to her immediate family she is survived by a half-sister, Jo Ann Nemmers and a half- brother, Fla Meagher, Jr. of IA. She is also survived by numerous special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews who she kept in touch with through mail and phone calls. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
