Lynn Marionette Blakeley Mixon, age 82, passed away peacefully in her home on April 19, 2026. Born on August 17, 1943, in Kingstree, SC, Lynn was the daughter of Marion O’Neal and Caro Bailey Blakeley. She spent her early childhood in Scranton, SC, moving with her parents to Williamsburg County and later to Andrews, where she lived until her death.
Lynn’s greatest acts of service were to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to her family. She was active in church serving as Sunday School teacher, involved in women’s ministry, and singing in the choir. When her children were young, she cared for them at home, returning to work once her youngest started school. At that time, Lynn served as church secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church and retired as secretary from the dental office of Dr. David Grabeman, in order to enjoy her time with her adult children and grandchildren.
Lynn was predeceased by her first husband, Virgil Holmes Mixon, the father of her children, and by her second husband Douglas M. Walters. Surviving are her children Dwight (Annette) Mixon, Craig (Susan) Mixon, Lane (Kelly) Mixon, and Shana (Roger) Barrineau; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with two on the way-all whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her only and dearly-loved sibling Michael (Nancy) Blakeley of Charleston. Lynn was happiest when she was with her children, or sitting in her patio swing on a sunny afternoon with a book, listening to the wind in the pines.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Trinity Global Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or Trinity Global Methodist Church, 205 South Rosemary Avenue, Andrews, SC 29510.
The Andrews Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home is assisting the family.
