Georgetown:
Margaret "Peggy" Pennay Crayton, 91, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at Prince George Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Crayton was born in Scranton, Penn. on June 22, 1915, a daughter of the late Thomas Ward Beecher Pennay and Ella Elizabeth Keech Pennay. She grew up in the Scranton area and graduated from Moscow High School. Mrs. Crayton attended business school and worked in Washington, D. C during World War II. She moved to Georgetown and married the late Samuel Broyles "Capt. Sammy" Crayton, Jr. in 1944. Mrs. Crayton was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: a son, Samuel Broyles "Sammy" Crayton, III and his wife Deana of Georgetown; two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" C. Mayer and her husband Bobby and Patricia "Patsy" A. Crayton, all of Georgetown; five grandchildren, S. Pennay M. Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Thomas W. Crayton of Charleston, C. Warner Mayer of Columbia, and Robert T. Mayer, III and Samuel "Sam" R. Crayton, both of Georgetown; and three great-grandchildren, Isabel and Nick Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Crayton Mayer of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Thursday morning, March 22, 2007, at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen H. Wilkins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2007, from four until six at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
