Mt. Pleasant: Margaret Byers Edler, 79, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. Edler was born in Charleston on July 23, 1925, a daughter of the late Joseph Johnson Byers and Mary Louise Smith Byers. She was a graduate of Bishop England High School. Mrs. Edler was a longtime member of the Charleston County Republican Party and a supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. She was a Catholic and widow of Walter Henry Edler. Surviving are: two sons, Clifford Joseph Edler of Mt. Pleasant and Brad Jerome Edler and his wife Cathy of Suffolk, Va.; a grandson, Conrad Timothy Edler of Suffolk, Va.; and her faithful companions, Leo, Jezebel, Sassy, Snoppy, and Dixie.
