Obituary

West Columbia: Margaret Virginia Ulmer Plunkett, 96, widow of Fred C. Plunkett, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Plunkett was born in Elloree on December 1, 1918, a daughter of the late David Jasper Ulmer and Lola Cornelia Heatley Ulmer. She was a homemaker, gardener, seamstress and loved to fish. She also loved to travel with her family. Surviving are: two sons, David D. Plunkett (Katherine) of Summerville and Fred C. Plunkett, Jr. (Patrichia) of Hanahan; three daughters, Linda W. Bernat (Joe) of Surfside Beach, Susan V. Henry of Vinton, LA, and Barbara P. Adams (Richard) of Lexington; ten grandchildren; Caroline B. Mills (Michael) of Florence, Tim Bailey (Kym) of Andrews, Jackie Plunkett of Marietta GA, David Plunkett, Jr. (Sheila) of Kennesaw, GA, David Alexander, Jr. of Vinton, LA, Shelly Adams (Max) of Orange, TX, Paige Duranty (Ed) of Loganville, GA, Ritchie Adams (Jennifer) of Lexington, and Cassandra Plunkett and Felicia Plunkett, both of N. Charleston; sixteen great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey, Colin, and Callie Mills, Caitlin Duranty Ramon (Tom), Eddy and Joseph Duranty, Brennan Cross, Bryan Plunkett, Savannah, Noah, Seth, and Mackenzie Adams, Dakota and Dylan Alexander, and Aaron Courville; three great-great-grandchildren, Blaiklee and Miles Ramon, and Paris Courville; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Plunkett was predeceased by; a son, Joe Plunkett; and ten siblings, Allie Kemmerlin, Grace Alley, David, Brunson, Jasper David, and John Henry Ulmer, Catherine Browning, Lillian Plunkett, Rae Steifle, and Nell Leonard. Funeral services will be two o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 27, 2014 at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Mills and Pastor Jim McManus. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens in Georgetown. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from one until two.
