Pawleys Island:
Margie Cain Humphries, 86, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 4, 2015 at her home in the Prince George Community in Pawleys Island after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Humphries was born April 4, 1929 in Greenville, the daughter of the late Daniel R. (Bubba) Cain and Nellie Trammel Cain Thackston. She was a graduate of Greenville High School and also attended Washington Seminary in Atlanta and Furman University in Greenville.
After her marriage to Tom in 1950, she joined him in Atlanta where they lived for 49 years before relocating to Pawleys Island in 1999. Mrs. Humphries was a member of First Baptist Church in Georgetown and had previously been a member of First Baptist Church in Greenville and Second Ponce DeLeon Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Margie is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, John Thomas (Tom) Humphries; a son, John Cain Humphries and his wife Susan Willis Humphries of Marietta, Ga., and one granddaughter, Jennifer Cain Humphries of Woodstock, Ga.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at three o'clock in the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the Church parlor prior to the funeral service from two until three o'clock

The family wishes to express their love and affection to her wonderful caregivers from "Home Instead Senior Care" for their love and dedication over the years and the kind and loving ladies from Tidelands Community Hospice in Georgetown for their love and attention given to Margie in her last few days.
