Georgetown: Marianna Grant Philips, 85, widow of Thomas Dayton Philips, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Prince George HealthCare and Rehab. Mrs. Philips was born in Atlanta, Ga. on July 4, 1925, a daughter of the late John Grant and Anna Peacock Grant. She was a long-time resident of Atlanta and Northern Virginia and moved to Georgetown a year and a half ago. Mrs. Philips was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery, knitting and reading. Surviving are: three daughters, Alice Briggs (John) of Pawleys Island, Martha Adams (Louis) of Georgetown and Rebecca Swinson (Clyde) of Vienna, Va.; and three grandchildren, Cindy Briggs Biondi (Darick), Susan Swinson and Katharine Swinson.
