Georgetown: Marie Cauthen Horton LaBruce, 98, died Sunday, October 12, 2003, at Morningside Assisted Living in Georgetown, S. C. Mrs. LaBruce was born in Kershaw on May 15, 1905, the daughter of the late William Walter Horton and Nannie Cauthen Horton. She grew up in Kershaw and graduated from Limestone College. Following graduation, she taught in the Kershaw County school system until her marriage to Allard Flagg LaBruce of Georgetown. She was a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Survivors include her daughter, Esther L. Temple of Georgetown, her grandson, Thomas D. Temple of Columbia; her granddaughter of Deborah Temple Hokum of Mt. Pleasant; five great-grandchildren; two nieces, Elizabeth Horton Long and Eunice Marie Horton. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, at one o'clock at All Saints Church, Waccamaw Churchyard. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul C. Fuener.
