Andrews:
Marie Payne Lambert, 87, died Thursday, September 14, 2006, at Georgetown Healthcare and Rehab.
Mrs. Lambert was born in Bessemer City, N. C. on January 10, 1919, a daughter of the late David Lee Payne and Ethel Ida Phifer Payne. She grew up in the Trio community of Williamsburg Co. and lived in Siler City, N. C. for many years. After the death of her husband, E. Leon Lambert, she returned to S. C. to live in Andrews. Mrs. Lambert was a member of Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Lambert was predeceased by: three brothers, Leonard Payne, Kenneth Payne, and D. L. Payne, Jr.; and two sisters, Imogene Rowell and Pauline Smith.
Survivors include: a daughter, Linda L. Painter and her husband Stan of Easley; a sister, Edith P. Brantley of Beaufort; two granddaughters, Hollis Painter of Atlanta, Ga. and Hillary Painter of Charleston; niece and caregiver, Nan S. Blakely of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be three o'clock Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2006, at Andrews Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. John Black. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends before the services at the Andrews Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall from one-thirty until three.
