Marie Morris Camlin McCormick, 83, died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. McCormick was born in the Sampit Community of Georgetown Co. on February 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Edgar Cleveland Morris and Dosia Trisvan Anderson Morris. She attended Oak Grove School and graduated from Andrews High School and Palmer Business College in Charleston. Mrs. McCormick retired after a career in sales and merchandising and home care nursing. She lived in Pawleys Island, California, Nevada, Florida, and Charleston prior to moving to Savannah.
Surviving are: a daughter, Alicia Joyce Camlin of Savannah; two sons, Allen Camlin of Savannah and Larry Camlin of Mt. Dora, Fla.; two brothers, Herbert O. Morris and his wife Lucy of Fredericksburg, Tex. and Francis J. Morris and his wife Edith of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Ann M. McDaniel of Charleston and Nell Morris Cribb of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Dr. Suzanne Sablan of Fremont, Calif., Sonny Sablan of San Jose, Calif., Joe Sablan of San Ramon, Calif., Christen Camlin of Marietta, Ga., and Stephanie Buhler of Mt. Dora, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 31, 2006, at the graveside in Sampit United Methodist Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill.
