Obituary

Irmo: Mark Gladstone Rosen, 64, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. Mr. Rosen was born in Georgetown on November 29, 1952, the son of Meyer Rosen and the late Lillian Rubin Rosen. He grew up in Georgetown and was a graduate of Winyah High School and the University of South Carolina. Mr. Rosen was a Database Analyst with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of S.C., where he worked for thirty-six years. He was a twenty year member of the Columbia Brown's Backers and a lifetime member of the American Pool Association . Surviving in addition to his father of Charleston are: his companion, Terri A. Johns of Irmo; and two sisters, Phyllis Rosen Bessert (Jack) of Lisle, IL and Beverly Rosen of Charleston; and a nephew, Nathan Bessert of Lisle, IL. Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Thursday morning, July 20, 2017, at the graveside in Temple Beth Elohim Cemetery in Georgetown. Officiating will be Rabbi Avi Perets. Burial will follow in the Cemetery. The family would like to especially thank the medical staff at Lexington Medical Center Oncology and the nurses and technicians that treated Mark with upmost professionalism and also showed him great love and affection at all times.
